Seeking the intersection between biology and design
About Me
I'm a designer who is passionate about the regenerative possibilities that exist in the design of products, materials and the systems that encompass them. Current product cycles are out of sync with the planet's natural cycles. We use materials that take billions of years to form, for products that are used once and thrown away. Consumerism remains on the rise and people are reluctant to give up convenience for a healthier planet.
I believe that biomaterials offer an alternative that works symbiotically within natural ecologies. Regenerating ecosystems through active engagement with the orchestra of life they are composed of. Material and product ecologies which consider the complex interconnected systems of nature provide a bridge which can interrupt our anthropocentric and dualist views. Guiding us away from the Anthropocene and helping transition into sustainable futures, allowing humanity to reconnect and thrive alongside the natural environment.
